PR3? thoughts

A few days ago this article was posted saying "fans shouldn't be ready to throw in the towel yet." Obviously in Uprising Jake tells the still-possessed Newt that humans "[are] comin' for" the Precursors. Leaving Newt and the human race just hanging like that suggests a sequel and I'm clinging to that. Steven S. DeKnight said he has ideas for how to work on PR3 and possibly bringing back Mako. There's another article, too, that is hopeful especially in light of the new Netflix anime series in the PR universe. So I guess we'll see. Only obstacle for Newmann is of course catering to the Chinese box office and conservative viewpoints and censors on both sides of the Pacific.

once i found out that mako died, i couldn't make myself watch the movie. i love newt and hermann, obviously, but she was the one whose arc made me originally fall in love with it. i hope they bring her back, and not like in memories or in visions in the drift, either.

this feels silly now, but before the movie came out i was hoping we'd see her interact with another woman i could see her dating. instead, they killed her. :(

Oh yeah, that was terrible. To kill off Queen Mako, THE fan favorite was the dumbest idea EVER. And the direction after that failed because not only was unnecessary Jake was hardly upset. Maybe the character isn't that expressive? but honestly it felt off and it's a perfect way to bring Mako back because then you could say something like "Mako didn't die and Jake knew it all along." And 100% yeah she could be dating a lovely woman. *sigh* so yeah, agreed.

I doubt I would have seen the first movie if I hadn't heard there was a lady like Mako with an interesting story in it. :(

Yeah! So much so that there is now the Mako Mori test for films.
